Painting with Fire - November Exhibition

One night only!

Saturday 26th November, 3pm - 8pm at the Bright Chalet

**Exhibition Postponed to Saturday 26th November** Hey Guys, In light of all the weather events we're experiencing and how badly the roads are damaged I think it's best to postpone the exhibition until after the rains. There's more predicted this weekend and with the river banks already at capacity it's just not safe to be driving out unnecessarily. Saturday is going to fall right in the middle of the storm and as much as I'd love to see everyone I'd rather see you safely! So I hope you can all understand this decision and please don't drive in flood waters and be mindful of wildlife on the roads trying to get to higher grounds

Hope to see you in November!

Maegan is a recognised young talent accomplishing notable achievements at this early stage in her professional artistic career. She is a Resident Artist at the renowned Morpeth Gallery in the Hunter Valley NSW where her work hangs alongside Masters in Realism. She made the top 35 Finalists list for the Holmes Prize in 2021, an Australia wide competition. This year she has been juried as a Semi-Finalist for the Art Renewal Center’s 16th International Art Salon Competition with all 3 artworks accepted. This competition had 5,400 entries across 75 countries and only the top 40% 2,152 artworks qualified for the Semi-finals round. She is currently 1 in 12 Australian Artists with an internationally recognised title of ARC Living Artist, awarded by the Art Renewal Center earlier this year. Maegan is represented in private collections across Australia, Europe, East Asia and the United States of America.

First popularised by surrealist greats such as Wolfgang Paalen and Salvadore Dali; ‘Fumage’ is the highly specialised technique of dancing a flame underneath paper to leave a layer of soot or carbon.

Working from her Bobinawarrah Studio (near Milawa) in NE Victoria; Maegan takes this several steps further by etching the carbon away with various tools to leave an incredibly realistic image of the subject. ‘Painting with Fire’ - is the literal translation of how she creates artworks. Using man-made fire to burn paper is a commentary on the conflict between man and nature. Maegan has created a unique style and a collection of artworks that raise awareness and provide a voice for many species at risk.

This exhibition hopes to further raise awareness of our incredible native wildlife with a chunk of profits from the night going to support the rehabilitation and care of injured wildlife. Bar service is available and antipasto platters will be served in the evening.

Everyone is welcome, hope to see you there!
